Ultimate Safaris education support – meet Jenory Ganuses

18-year-old Jenory Ganuses from Kamanjab is
one of the recipients of Ultimate Safaris’ non-profit, the Conservation Travel
Foundation’s, SIGNAL FAMILY bursary scheme, which was set up in conjunction
with the Singer family from New Zealand who travelled with Ultimate Safaris 6
years ago.
Jenory first showed her potential while in
grade 5 at the Grootberg Primary School in the Khoadi-//Hoes Conservancy in the
Kunene Region and was subsequently awarded a bursary to attend a private high
school to further develop that potential reach her full potential.
Jenory was accepted into Windhoek Gymnasium
in 2021 as a boarder, with full access to after-care, and extra-curricular
activities, and after adjusting to the new lifestyle and schooling techniques,
started to make friends and got involved in both athletics and netball.
She is now in grade 11 and has improved on
her schooling year in and year out, while also excelling in Netball, playing
for the first team and having had the opportunity to go on multiple sports
trips to South Africa and across the country.
Jenory has shown a major interest in
tourism after completingh an in-service project at Ultimate Safaris’ Galton
House guest house in Windhoek in 2024, and she has elected to study this as one
of her matric subjects.
The SIGNAL FAMILY bursary, which has paid
out around N$ 1 million for Jenory’s education over the past 5 years, covers everything
from tuition, boarding, transport, private medical aid, sports costs, and
uniform to extra tuition fees to catch up to the private school syllabus, etc. Funding
has also recently been committed to extend the support being offered to her to
allow her to attend tertiary education and further her studies.

Enriching Lives
Ultimate Safaris is privileged to be able to operate in pristine wilderness areas. We believe that the future of the environment and the natural inhabitants of these regions lies in the hands of the communities living there, and that this means they must be involved in the custodianship of their surroundings. The Conservation Travel Foundation is Ultimate Safaris’ registered non-profit organisation and it fully supports these ideals.
