Our Tribe
As a leader in Conservation Travel that pioneers new approaches to travel in Namibia, Ultimate Safaris is committed to providing world-class experiences for discerning travelers in some of the most spectacular natural locations on earth. A journey with us is an adventure that promises not only to capture imaginations, but is also one that leaves guests awe-struck by the pristine nature of the destinations visited. This is all facilitated by dealing with a highly motivated and enthusiastic tribe.
Our guests are taken care of by some extraordinary people whose only desire is to ensure that each moment spent with us is as perfect as possible. From responding to initial enquiries, to providing days filled with thrilling encounters, and to arranging nights entranced with exclusivity beyond most people’s wildest dreams, our tribe offers a seamless service - and it goes without saying that they know exactly what is expected of them to create perfect the Namibian safari.
Naturalist Guides
Our Naturalist Guides are exceptional as a group and amongst the best in the country as individuals. They are also considered to be the most important ingredient for truly life enriching journeys. Time and again we hear from our guests that “Ultimate guides are out of this world”. From Day One, we have made it a priority to recruit and retain the best guiding team in Namibia, striving to match the ‘perfect guide’ to any given safari and thus ensuring these ‘out of this world’ experiences. Our guides are all Namibian and easily recognizable throughout the country. Some of them are published writers and photographers, some are lecturers, but all are generally well-known Namibian tourism personalities.
Knowledge, experience and personality should be taken for granted, but when combined with charisma, passion and motivation, these traits create the perfect guides. Ultimate guides are personable, engaging, caring and have a passion for travel and the world around them, and they enrich the lives of our guests as well as the people we take them to visit. Such unique individuals are a rare find and these particular individuals are dedicated to the values that make us Ultimate Safaris.
Journeysmiths
Our Journeysmiths are considered to be leading authorities on travel to Namibia, and they have over 300 years of relevant experience between them. From the onset, great importance is attached to identifying specific expectations and requirements and including these in the arrangements made, thus ensuring seamless and very memorable safari experiences. Facilitated by intelligent, insider knowledge and a little black book of private contacts, our safari specialists smooth out the creases to remove the complexities of a Namibian safari, ensuring all aspects of any given safari are artfully tied together. Keeping on the cutting edge of what is new is a priority at Ultimate Safaris and, as a result, you are assured of a safari that makes use of the best possible options available.
Journey Magicians
Our Journey Magicians are our ‘engine room’, quietly working behind the scenes to ensure all aspects of the Ultimate Safaris operation run smoothly and cohesively. This includes helping guides make sure they are fully prepared for guest arrivals, checking and maintaining our safari vehicles, producing the necessary information packages for specific safaris, and running our own fully-serviced camps.
Journey Reckoners
Our Journey Reckoners are essentially our ‘bean counters’ as well as those responsible for dealing with tribe and company welfare. They make sure accounts are sent out and paid on time, they maintain business relationships with our suppliers, and they coordinate weekly tribe welfare events where they strive to ensure that the body, mind and spirit of everyone at Ultimate Safaris is in perfect shape. This is the part of the tribe which keep the rest of the tribe going.
